My husband and I were looking to purchase bamboo plants and TyTy was one of the most favorable looking sites for the particular species we wanted. I should have done more research BEFORE I called to place the order and I would have thought twice with all the complaints. But I didn't. First off the "sales" person that answered the phone was not very helpful and difficult to understand. I had my doubts about giving him my cc info but I did it anyway. I knew that the plants would be sent bare root with the roots packed in a special gel to keep them moist. UNFORTUNATELY no where on the site does it say that the bamboo is only sold as a "root ball", meaning they *** (literally) all the greenery from the plant. So imagine our outrage when the the "1/3rd pruned" plants we expected were a paper wrapped ball of gel covered distressed roots with a few broken stalks". NO WHERE on the web site does it say its only a ball of roots that they will ship to you/. Complaints get you no where with this company as they stick to the lie that they website states its a root ball?. No the website states that the size of the roots are x-y-z, not that its the only thing your going to get'. We were really looking forward to a jump start on our privacy hedge,. If we had known before hand how TyTy does business I would have bypassed them and kept looking|. Complaints made thru the BBB doesn't get you anywhere either since TyTy hides behind the no refund policy (I asked for a partial refund and that the company clarify this omission on their website)'. I could have considered returning the plants if we hadn't planted them right away to keep them from dying and IF Ty Ty had offered to cover the cost of shipping them back,. I'm forced to settle for warning everyone I can to avoid TyTy Nursery and their questionable adversiting/sales practices. 1281032

I had a similar experience with these jerks. I ordered a Ae Ae banana from them in 2005 nd they sent me an elephant ear tuber, like I was such an *** I wouldn't notice the difference. I called them and they were rude and told me too bad. I contacted the county extension agent in their county and the GA Attorney General's Office. I guess someone gave them *** becsuse about a month later I got my money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

A refund was processed for this order. The bamboo is a heavy item to ship, so we prune them back for a safe and efficient shipping to minimize the risk of them arriving damaged from UPS.
