DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! We ordered Kwanzan Cherry tree from Ty Ty company despite all the negative feedback and our better judgement. We used Amazon account with an established address yet TyTy shipped it to the wrong town. When I called and complained, they rerouted the shipment and finally we received the tree....Holy God, the shock we had. The box was crushed, dented and wrinkled, as soon as we took the tree out, half the leaves fell on the floor and the rest of them were half dry and shriveled. The bottom of it was wrapped in some plastic, no bucket. Not wanting to lose any time, on the same day, we called our landscape design company that planted numerous trees on our 1 acre lot (all are green and grow beautiful) and asked them to come to plant the tree as every minute was crucial. Since they’ve done such a beautiful job with our other trees, we wanted them to continue designing and positioning the rest of them.
As soon as they walked in and saw the tree they said "she is a goner, you guys have been duped". But we insisted they plant it using fertilizers, trial mix, root stabilizer, all bells and whistles, like they did with our other trees, we said we really wanted it to live. Our landscape design company is one of the best in the Dallas metroplex, they have a ton of positive feedback on Houzz, Home Advisor, Yelp, Google. Two days later we walked out to check on our tree and saw that it was dead. Its leaves were dry and orange. Thankfully, before that, we purchased another Kwanzan cherry tree from FastGrowingTrees.com and that tree arrived looking great: all the leaves were crisp and green, nothing shriveled or dry, in the thick plastic bucket full of soil, the box was like new, not one crack, not one wrinkle, not one tear. Same landscaping company planted it and it’s looking wonderful! See a pic.
Right away, I emailed TyTy customer service and demanded a refund for everything we could NOT use to which they responded "Your tree was delivered very much alive....no returns or refunds will be allowed since the package was indeed opened and transplanted..." Really? Of course we opened the box, how else could we get the tree out? We wanted to give that poor tree a shot and plant it. That only showed we didn't have a "buyer's remorse" and wanted to keep it. And that's exactly what TyTy used against us. And now, they say we have to keep the dead tree in soil for 30 days before they ship a replacemen!? And that replacement will be just as dead, what then? If I knew then what I know now. Later Austin Sanders emailed, but after I responded, he disappeared.
It's bad enough someone ignorant there shipped our the tree to the wrong address, when we used Amazon account....but to get shriveled dead tree and have them insult us by saying we are lying? Learn on our mistakes, not your own. Add more money and buy it from reputable companies, companies that would go backwards to make you happy, companies that deliver healthy green trees. I didn't believe what people were saying about Ty Ty and here I am. So much time wasted on the phone rerouting shipment, on emails back and forth fighting for refund or replacement, this company should be shut down.
If you are like us, don't believe the reviews and decide to buy a tree from these people anyway, do not buy any tree shelters, fertilizers or tree mats. Their tree shelters" is a joke, it's rolled plastic with holes, we threw it away. We also bought two "tree mats" and they are even more anecdotal. Any black trash bag would do. They might cough up some store credit for the tree, but you will never get your money back for those useless accessories.
This is why they are so generous and give 50% off. They know they are shipping defected or dead product. Do not fall for their discounts. There is a reason they discount it, too much merchandise and it's dying. How do they keep getting away with this?
